Darren Gaffney

After completing his first degree as a Bachelor of Nursing, Darren worked with Australia’s leading surgeons in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.  In 1998 Darren travelled to London working at the Royal National Orthopaedic hospital alongside London’s leading foot and ankle surgeons.  During this time Darren became passionate about foot and ankle anatomy and function and returned home to pursue a career in Podiatry.  After completing his Bachelor of Health Science, Podiatry in 2005 he began his career at Gold Coast Foot Centres and has continued to develop his skills and specialities in sports podiatry.

Darren has a sporting back ground in Rugby Union, with his personal interest and passion for sport and competition leading him to a new challenge of triathlon, having completed several half ironman events.

As a proud Gold Coast resident for over 20 years, Darren is committed to giving back to the community and in 2017 was appointed as a Board Director of the Gold Coast District Rugby Union and is also a member of the Bond University Rugby Board.  In 2018 Darren was honoured to be appointed as one of the official podiatrists for the Commonwealth Games working with elite athletes from around the World at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

When not at work, Darren loves spending time with his family and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle of the beautiful Gold Coast.
