Nelson completed his Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Podiatry at La Trobe University in Melbourne, graduating in 2014. The following year Nelson moved up the Gold Coast in pursuit of warmer weather and begun working at Gold Coast Foot Centres at the beginning of 2015.
Nelson has special interests in the prevention and treatment of injuries, paediatrics and athletic footwear and its affect on injury and mechanics.
Nelson has worked in a range of settings including private practice, public and community settings. This has exposed him to a diverse patient base in the areas of assessment and rehabilitation of sporting injuries, diabetes, nail surgeries, footwear recommendation and general foot care.
Nelson worked in a Melbourne based speciality running shoe store, Active Feet, for a number of years, where he gained invaluable knowledge of athletic footwear and how this can affect biomechanics and injury.
Outside of work Nelson enjoys playing Australia Rules football for the Broadbeach Cats, running, social basketball, hiking, food and playing guitar.
